We are established in 1881 and offer local public transport with trams and buses.

We also are partner in the Transport Association Warnow (VerkehrsVerbund Warnow GmbH - VVW). Our service by trams and buses covers the transport area of the Hanseatic city of Rostock.

2014

07/30/2014: The new tram of type 6N2 goes into operation. New timetable information in real time and Twitter account of RSAG online.

06/06/2014: Fully automatic RSAG pedelec rental system with 4 stations officially put into operation.

2013

15/09/2013: Park(ing) day and car-free day in the Lange Straße. The RSAG is one of the organizers of the Working Group on Climate Change and mobility. Stuff of the RSAG is on site with a bus of the new generation (hybrid) in the Lange Straße.

16/09/2013: First RSAG pedelec rental station in Reutershagen goes for a test driver in operatin.

2012

20/04/2012 Transport released the point of intersection at Nordkreuz. Launch of the station Warnemünde Werft.

2011

02/03/2011: Start of construction of EURAWASSER between the junction at Kabutzenhof and the Werftdreieck. 3 months single-track road in the Doberaner Straße. Two climbing course lead to and from the existing track on the railway track.

04/05/2011: Transport Minister Volker Schlotmann passes a funding decision for the purchase of five hybrid articulated buses.

30/07/2011: 50 Years tram through the Lange Straße: tram parade of generations through the city center.

2010

19/03/2010 The Groundbreaking is the start of the construction of the new point of intersection in Warnemünde.

24/06/2010 Aboard and go - for 10 years is Evershagen the tram network. Press trip to Evershagen.
The Termial loop in Biestow is fully closed.

2009

April 2009: The Rostock Tramway AG begins on 31 March 2009 with the preparations of the catenary system conversion on the road Lange Straße.
June 2009: The Annual Conference of the VDV will be held in Rostock.

2008

20/02/2008: For the first time we start "Straßenbahn zum Anfassen" (a look behind the scenes of Rostocker Straßenbahn AG) and give an insight into our company.

31/03/2008: line 27 goes into service after six months in trial operation.

06/05/2008: 20th anniversary of the tram in Rostock Northeast.

June 2008: The first seven buses that reach the EEV (enhanced environmentally friendly vehicle) are used.

2007

01/01/2007: As the successor of Hajo Graf Vitzthum, who went into retirement on 31.12.06, was appointed by the Supervisory Board, the native of Rostock RSAG-Wilfried Eisenberg for 5 years.

June 18th: Full closure of the section Doberaner Platz - Steintor for trams. Only bus service available.

May 15: Open Day at "100 Years of Electric in Rostock"

April 11: Opening of the Rostock central station and the tram tunnel.

April 12: Inauguration of the new tram route in the southern part "Südstadt" connected to neighborhood festival.

November 28: Opening of the tram route to the northern part "Lichtenhagen". Connected to a neighborhood festival.

2002

18th-19th April: First Rostock traffic days (Rostocker Verkehrstage), a conference all about traffic transport.

August 14: Breakthrough the distribution level of the main station Rostock

2001

January 31: agreement is signed to ensure the public transport in Rostock.

April 17: Delivery of the first Niederflurbeiwagens.

May 11: Opening of the Direct Marketing Center of RSAG for enhanced telephone customer services.

July 7: Commissioning of the section in N2 Luetten Klein with a street festival. The Mayor Arno Poeker drove the first tram over the new subsection.

October 19: first sod for the tram network extension in the southern part by the economy minister of M / V Otto Ebnet, the Mayor Arno Poeker and the boards of the RSAG Jochen Bruhn and Hajo Graf Vitzthum.

The tram returns to the northeast and opens by random routes the newly created districts Dierkow and Toitenwinkel. This creates attractive and fast connections to the city center.

Closing of tram line 4, which led to Gehlsdorf. Therefor an new bus operation to Gehsldorf.

1962

With the opening of numerous lines the southern part and the districts are connected to the public transport system in the Northwest. New, more spacious and more comfortable vehicles are increasingly determining the image of Rostock transport. From 1962 brand new articulated trams from Gotha are used, 1969 moves the first articulated bus.

1961

As part of the reorganization of the marketplace "Neuer Markt" now the tram route leads through the road "Lange Straße".

Spin-off company from the "Kommunalwirtschafltichen company" and new named "VEB transport Rostock". At this time also the first tramways and buses of GDR and Hungarian production arrived.

A long desired wish of the inhabitants of Dierkow come true. The tram goes to Dierkow and three years later Gehlsdorf is connected to the city.

Resumption of tram operation on two lines.

1930/ 1936

The emerging district Reutershagen is connected to the tramway network with the terminus Marienehe, also the new cemetery Neuer Friedhof.
